V 8.2.3 (September 2022)

AAvirtual is a virtual airline and not a real world airline, nor are there any real world offices in our “hub” locations. AAvirtual exists in whole to be a community of virtual aviation enthusiasts who enjoy flight simulation using the varied versions of Flight Simulators.

AAvirtual’s sole purpose is to provide entertainment and education to its voluntary members. Any operation or documentation that is similar to any actual airline is purely coincidental and is no way intended to violate any copyrights, trademarks, or other protection laws. All AAvirtual Logos and registered trademarks are property of Coalitic.

AAvirtual/Coalitic. is in no way associated with American Airlines Group Inc., its subsidiaries, or affiliates.

The AAvirtual website is not for any commercial purpose. Coalitic. is a non-profit entity and generates no revenue whatsoever. The AAvirtual’s publicly accessible web site does not have the ability to accept or allow consumers to purchase actual airline tickets.

All published virtual flight information (including charts, airport diagrams, flight schedules, etc.) is for the use of AAvirtual pilots in their simulation experience and are not substituted for use in real world aviation.

We work to increase the connection between todays youth and the aviation industry. We do this through the use of flight simulation software to inspire youth to inspire aviation as a career. We work to target under privileged and underserved youth as well as a part of this.

Corporate Leadership

The AAvirtual corporate leadership structure is designed to clearly define the scope of each staff member. A fully developed administrative website management system allows us to have a smaller executive team fully committed to developing an excellent pilot experience.

The AAvirtual People department is currently predicting continued organizational growth, so new/modified staff positions will be created as we continually re-evaluate the level and quality of service provided to our pilots.

Our corporate leadership team does not subscribe to the idea that their responsibilities of management simply revolve around administrative upkeep; we believe that our responsibility is to serve the needs of our members. Each staff member strives to provide excellent service through intelligent leadership, and focus on operating within a sound virtual business model.

Flight Operations

Flight Operations outline the backbone of our virtual airline. This section shall provide transparency for our members on what they can expect for every flight they conduct for our organization. It is important that we review flight activity by the same standard every time.

Rank Structure

AAvirtual assigns ranks to all pilots based upon experience points (XP). While we realize that some members may have more experience than others in these areas a natural progression was developed among the ranks to ensure pilot activity. Each rank comes with various aircraft they are allowed to fly and a lower maximum landing rate. Each higher rank is inclusive of the lower ranks.

Rank Name Min Max Aircraft Qualifications XP Modifier
New Hire 0 4,999 ERJ, CRJ, 737, A32x -
First Officer I 5,000 34,999 ERJ, CRJ, 737, A32x 2%
First Officer II 35,000 59,999 ERJ, CRJ, 737, A32x 4%
First Officer III 60,000 79,999 ERJ, CRJ, 737, A32x 6%
Captain I 80,000 94,999 B77X, B78X 7%
Captain II 95,000 109,999 B77X, B78X 9%
Captain III 110,000 124,999 B77X, B78X 10%
Senior Captain I 125,000 164,999 B77X, B78X 15%
Senior Captain II 165,000 279,999 B77X, B78X 20%
Senior Captain III 280,000 - B77X, B78X 25%

Pilot Reports

AAvirtual uses a proprietary flight reporting system for all flight reporting. This system allows for two types of pilot reports (PIREPS) to be filed. Any other form of filing cannot and will not be accepted. AAvirtual has some requirements and restrictions for each method of filing.

SmartCARS

Pilots must use AAvirtual smartCARS program to file a flight report. SmartCARS is a free program (downloadable on our website through IOC) that communicates with AAvirtual online servers and your Flight Simulator. It captures flight information and periodic position and status updates to the “current flights” section of our website.

macOS

We are proud to offer a fully integrated macOS acars system downloadable via IOC.

Manual PIREPs

Manual reports will only be considered in these scenarios:

  1. SmartCARS is not functional.
  2. SmartCARS crashes during flight.
  3. SmartCARS does not allow you to file a flight.
  4. Malfunction with SmartCARS during a flight.
  5. Prior approval by Line Operations.
  6. Verifiable evidence of flight completion is provided

We utilize artificial intelligence to screen Manual PIREP submissions for authenticity.

Acceptance Criteria

All PIREPs are processed using a proprietary Artificial Intelligence engine to protect the integrity of member's statistics. In addition to this, certain actions will result in an automatic denial:

  1. The aircraft is stalled.
Erratic stall indications may be approved on a case-by-case basis
  2. The aircraft crashes.
  3. Simulation time acceleration exceeds 1x or slew is used at any time.
Flights must be completed in their entirety, PIREPs with artificial manipulation of time will be denied; this includes skip to top of descent features.
  4. Landing rate exceeds maximum allowable rate for your rank.
  5. You do not land at your filed destination airport.
  6. An aircraft is used that you are not authorized to fly per your rank restrictions.
  7. An aircraft is used other than that selected in IOC.
Some aircraft substitutions may be made in IOC
  8. Fueling occurs at any point after push-back.
  9. An OA flight is operated without sufficent OA passes
  10. The AI engine detects any fraudulent or abusive behavior.
This may also result in suspension or revocation of your membership

The final authority as to the acceptance or denial of any PIREP rests with Line Operations. Any approved PIREP may be denied at anytime for violation of the above criterion. Denied PIREPs may be approved on a case-by-case basis.

Aircraft Swaps may be performed between aircraft of the same tier under normal circumstances. See table for reference with swapping aircraft.
Aircraft may be swapped within the same fleet type, be cognizant when swapping aircraft as some may incur performance restrictions on some routes

Tier 3 ERJ-140 ERJ-145 ERJ-170 ERJ-175 CRJ-200 CRJ-700 CRJ-900
Tier 2 B737-800 B737-8MAX A319 A320 A321 A321neo
Tier 1 B777-200 B777-300ER B787-8 B787-9
Diversions

Diversions are allowed to a reasonable alternate destination airport, or to one on a reasonable route of flight. You can utilize the ACARS if you will ultimately continue to your filed destination after diverting. If your diversion requires you to remain in the diversion city, you will need to file a manual PIREP.

Note: If the diversion appears to be utilized to circumvent route restrictions, or to fly from a desired point A to B, your PIREP will be denied.

In addition, you are expected to understand the basic functionality of Flight Simulator prior to joining.

When applying for membership, it is the applicant's responsibility to supply valid and truthful information. AAvirtual reserves the right to reject all applications with information found to be falsified in anyway. In addition, all members are required to submit and maintain an active email address for communications. In such cases, the membership account may be removed at our discretion. It is the user’s responsibility to keep the email address up to date at all times. Please use your profile management in the Pilot Center to update your email address when it changes.
